Jolly Holiday

This thing is starting to feel real! You didn't think I was going forget to blog today!  I had to make some progress for you.  Bert and Mary are simply over the moon with the progress on my project.

Bert said heeeeeeeeeeeee when he saw my sash!

Bert said "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH" when he found out how nicely I did the standing collar.

I know, the zipper is not in yet. Well the sleeves are not done yet either. Soon enough.  I have never sewn anything with this many tucks and gathers. Kind of cool how it is turning out. I am pleased. The photo above is referenced from my Chanel The Metropolitan book.  I was studying collars today.  I decided to skip the bow tie ribbon on mine.  Adding more ribbon to my project would turn it into a hot mess.

This photo is taken from the same Chanel book. I like how the flowers are embroidered right onto the ribbon sash.  Really pretty.  With my sash, I decided to keep it simple and use the same white material. I did make my sash longer than what the pattern had called for.  I can't stand stumpy little bows.  Good thing I'm smart like that.

I added this just because it is vintage Chanel, gilt brooch 1959. Same book.
I will dedicate this 1959 brooch to Juan. I won't even mention his last name because he doesn't know that I have jumped into fashion with both feet.  He is my favorite project manager in the world of architecture. Maybe someday we will once again work on the 1959 theater project in downtown Phoenix. He knows he is right when he says my head is stuck in the 60's.

It's a jolly holiday with Mary!

I adore Mary Poppins-always have, always will. Lucky DVDs don't wear out, I honestly watch at least twice a week.

It's so fun to watch the progress of your project-can't wait to see the end result! Well, come along! Spick spock!

Fashion westie - you are the bestie. You know I believe the more you watch MP the better off you will be. When Bert and Mary are dancing in the country to Jolly Holiday I get so happy. You know the happier you are, the more you will be able to give back to others. That's what this thing called life is all about. I am working on the sleeves right now! Hugs.
